Three Goals for 2025 That Will Transform Your Business

podcast • February 5, 2025

Are you ready to make 2025 your most successful and profitable year yet?

Today, I’m sharing three powerful strategies to help you grow your business in 2025. And the goals I’m sharing today are ones that I have already started to implement into my own business and I’ve already to see success with these.

This is a graphic with a quote from Andee Hart, host of the She Sells Differently Podcast, and it's from the episode 3 goals for 2025 that will transform your business and the quote is "I'm sharing my top 3 goals for 2025 and the impact that I have already seen them make in my business and how they will do the same for yours."

Simplify and streamline your product offerings to increase your sales

The first goal is to simplify and streamline your product offerings.

I’m all about really being counter cultural, in my approach to business, and often, we want to provide all of the options to our customers.

The more options that we can provide, the better. But I want to challenge your way of thinking when you think about expanding your product line.

The consumer mind, when it has a lot of options in front of it, will get confused and a confused mind will say no.

Think about the last time you were presented as a consumer with a lot of options. Maybe you were looking to make a purchase big or small, and you’re presented with a lot of options, you probably, if you were anything like me, and depending on what type of buyer you are, you may have stepped back, and instead of making a purchase right then, like you intended to, you may have stepped back and said, nope. I am going to wait and do some research and make a more informed purchase, because there are way too many options here, and I’m afraid I’m going to make the wrong choice and have buyer’s remorse.

So, simplifying and streamlining your product offerings can really help eliminate that overwhelm for your buyer.

I often hear my clients say, oh, but I have no clue how to get rid of any of my products. They’re like my babies. I’ve created them. How am I supposed to get rid of my products?

Here are some simple tips on how to retire products and do it well.

First, I want you to look at your data and identify your best sellers. Use your data to look at your top 20% of your products. You can also get customer feedback. Use your social media, use your email list, get customer feedback on what are their favorite products, but data never lies.

I also want you to do the same thing on your bottom 20%. Now, I’m not asking you to eliminate your bottom 20%, but every 6 months, what I do in my own candle company is I will actually eliminate around my bottom 10% of products.

The reality is it’s costing me money to carry those products and to keep the supplies on hand to produce those products.

And so, I will retire those products. I’ll make an announcement to my email list, to my retailers, and I will put those products on sale. And it creates a scarcity and an urgency. And then inevitably, I will have people come out of the woodwork and say, oh, but I love that candle or fragrance – don’t retire it. But the data doesn’t lie.

That is an underperforming product, and once that inventory is gone, it is gone, and I will replace it with a new product, or I will just not replace it and just lower the number of products that I carry.

So, phasing out those underperforming products is a great way to streamline your product offerings.

You can also focus on creating a signature product line when you have identified those best sellers.

Identifying your best sellers really helps you know what are going to be the core product offering that your ideal customers are going to purchase time and time again, and you can create that signature everyday product line that you can have around and create the longevity for your product portfolio.

So, that is another way to just streamline and simplify your product portfolio which should be one of your goals for 2025.

Action steps to stream lining your product line

  • Conduct a product portfolio audit. What are your top best sellers, and what are your bottom performers? What’s working? What’s not?
  • Retire the bottom 10%, and create a cohesive product collection for your customers, and set a date to get that done by. If you set a date and a goal for yourself, you are more likely to get it done and to accomplish that goal.

Create effective sales copy to achieve your sales goals for 2025

My second goal for 2025 is to really focus and hone in on my sales copy for my product descriptions.

There is so much power in the words that we use, and I really want to spend time focusing on creating product descriptions for my customers that will get them excited to purchase my products.

And I have seen a transformation in the last 2-to-3 weeks with an intense focus on copywriting, on just how important this can be in your business.

Copywriting mistakes in your product descriptions

Some of the common mistakes that I see entrepreneurs make in their product descriptions include focusing too much on product features.

I have been guilty of this, and this is actually what I am focusing on getting rid of in my current product descriptions.

But we focus on product features instead of the benefits and the value add for our customers. So, focusing on the features instead of the transformation that our products will bring to our customers.

And when we start to really hone in on our sales copy and really spend the time to get down into the details then we will see the power of clear benefits focused language that speaks to our customers’ needs and desires, especially when it comes to our product descriptions.

This can also include things outside of your product descriptions. This can be utilized on your product packaging and on your website.

You can use sales copy to draw in your ideal customer to your brand, utilizing storytelling to build an emotional connection with your brand and who you are as a product maker.

It also can help you build organic reach by utilizing SEO keywords and make your products more discoverable online.

So, your sales copy is a multifaceted approach to reaching your ideal customer from your product descriptions to your website, to your SEO.

It is important to have a minute focus on all aspects of how you are communicating with your words. And I am excited to dive into this in my own business this year.

Action steps to updating your sales copy

  • Spend time this week rewriting one product description that will help you sell your product.
  • Some great tools that I love to use in my business is Ubersuggest, and you can get a free trial. This is a great tool that you can use to research keywords.
  • You can also use a great Shopify plugin, Yoast SEO. It really helps in crafting product descriptions and increasing your visibility if you utilize Shopify for your website.
  • I have course called the Faire Visibility Playbook. If you are a product maker interested in wholesaling, especially on the Faire platform, I have a whole lesson in the playbook about crafting product descriptions that sell and connect to your retailers.

Find time for rest and balance which should be one of your essential goals for 2025

My third goal for 2025, and this is definitely going to seem counterintuitive, but my 3rd goal is to rest, to rest and define balance in my business.

Rest is so important because it’s essential for creativity, productivity, and for our mental health, and rest is being productive.

If you look in scripture and you see in Genesis, the Lord created for 6 days and on the 7th day, he rested. The Lord didn’t need to rest, but he showed us the importance of it in our everyday lives.

And after we have spent all week working, how important it is to take time to shut down your mind from work and all that you have been doing throughout the week.

And so, I want to be more intentional with taking time for rest in my life, and I am excited about that this year.

I’ve already seen the fruits of that in my work this year in just 2 weeks into 2025.

So, I want to encourage you to set boundaries, create work hours, stick to them, schedule in downtime, and really treat that as nonnegotiable for your business.

I know you will really see your productivity go up when you schedule in time for rest, and you incorporate in small daily practices, journaling, exercise, taking time for your, quiet time in the morning, scripture and prayer.

That is so important to set the stage for a productive day and centering your mind on what is important.

Action steps for rest and balance in 2025

  • Commit to one self-care activity each day, whether that is scheduling in time quiet time each morning before your family wakes up, whether that is turning off work one day a week, or just creating a rest plan for your business that is nonnegotiable.

So, what will you stop doing or maybe delegate in your business to make space for rest in 2025?

I’d love for you to send me a DM on Instagram and share some of your goals for 2025!
