5 Marketing Pillars That Will Transform Your Business

podcast • February 19, 2025

Do you feel overwhelmed by the world of marketing and automation while trying to balance your faith and grow your business?

Today I am collaborating with SJ Meeson, and we are getting candid about the emotional nuances many Christian businesswomen face when considering wealth and profit, and explores how entrepreneurs can align their ventures with their spiritual values and still thrive financially.

This is a graphic from the podcast episode titled 5 Marketing Pillars That Will Transform Your Business with SJ Meeson and it says It takes 7 touchpoints for a person to get to know a brand. It's 22 touch points to actually get that person to the point of buying. Quote from SJ Meeson

And SJ outlines her 5 essential marketing pillars, which are designed to build on one another, therefor simplifying the often-overwhelming world of marketing.

Faith and Wealth: SJ’s journey

At the beginning of SJ’s journey she stumbled upon digital marketing and was captivated by it. And as she was learning about digital marketing, she was just like, God, I’m about to start making a hell of a lot of money and she felt weird about this and wasn’t sure if it was the right thing to do.

And she remembers going to a prayer session at church and was asked what would you like us to pray about? Her response we I’m not going to tell you, I just want to hear from God. And the first thing that came out of her mouth was, what you’re doing is fine, go ahead, I’ve got you. And you’re going to blossom through this. So, this is okay with God. Let’s go full throttle with this.

And SJ’s biggest thing was just knowing that God had her back and changed her perspective about making money.

The old school beliefs are you’re making money; you’re a bad person.

And there’s a big persona in the world that if you’ve got money, then you’re not very nice or there’s something that’s not right about you, and there’s kind of a stigma against it.

Social media hasn’t helped with the pictures of people bragging about money and the big push for making sure you’re making your 6 figures.

And if you’ve made your six figures, then you’ve made it or you might be putting yourself down because you aren’t making six figures.

But SJ knows that God has put her on this path. And the most important thing is knowing, first of all, that God’s got your back.

It’s it is okay for you to make money. God does want us to make money and I think he does want us to manage that money well.

5 Marketing Pillars that will change your business

SJ shares 5 marketing pillars that are a sequence and are meant to build one on top of the other.

It’s important to note that while selling and marketing are overwhelming, these are two different things.

Marketing Pillars #1 – The foundation of your marketing

You want to make sure you really understand your vision, mission, and your values.

So, what is it that you’re doing in your business?

What mission is it that God’s given you or that’s within yourself that you feel you need to do on this earth?

And what’s the vision of that, how do you see that happening?

Because once you’ve got your values in place, it helps you to make decisions.

Once you have that firm foundation, then you can start making things personal in your marketing and start sharing your story from that.

Marketing Pillars #2 – Keeping it personal

Audiences relate to brands on a personal level, making storytelling an essential marketing tool.

For SJ, telling the story of how Christian Women in Business began is not just about her journey, but about connecting with women experiencing similar feelings of isolation in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

By making marketing personal, you can frame your narrative around the needs and aspirations of your audience, thereby increasing engagement and fostering a sense of community.

This personalized approach is central to creating meaningful and lasting connections with customers.

Marketing Pillars #3 – Simplifying marking automations

SJ’s expertise in marketing automation is a valuable asset for entrepreneurs struggling with manual processes.

She advises starting small, addressing tasks that are time-consuming and repetitive.

For many, this begins with setting up an email marketing platform which is a necessary and essential first step in simplifying communication with customers.

By automating basic but essential processes, you can save time and resources, and focus your energy on strategic growth rather than operational minutiae.

Marketing Pillar #4 – Leveraging AI for content creation

SJ highlights using AI tools like ChatGPT to help design email sequences that align with your brand’s mission, vision, and values.

This simplifies the creation of impactful, consistent messaging across different platforms.

There is power in prompt and correct instruction; detailed guidance to the AI can yield content that accurately reflects your brand, enabling you to efficiently reach your audience and share your message.

Marketing Pillar #5 – Repurposing your content

Once you’ve established a strong base of content, there’s no need to reinvent the wheel.

SJ encourages repurposing content across various media channels, from social media to blogs.

This strategy not only maximizes resources but also ensures your message reaches diverse audience segments through multiple touchpoints.

It takes seven touch points for a person to get to know a brand. It’s 22 touch points to actually get to the point of buying.

And so, it doesn’t matter if you reshare stuff with your email list or on your social media. You can repurpose this content that you’ve just built because it’s going to show to different people at different times.

And you’re just really amplifying this one piece of basic information across all the different channels that you might have.

SJ’s five marketing pillars create a game plan that helps guide you through the maze of marketing.
