If marketing your business feels like sandpaper on your soul, you’re not broken—the strategy is. Rebel marketing is the choice to sell with integrity, design for your real life, and keep what works simple enough to repeat on your busiest week.
On this week’s episode of the She Sells Differently Podcast, Andee and guest Shauna Van Mourik, host of Marketing Rebels, dive into the why your traditional marketing tactics won’t get you noticed.
Why “Bro Marketing” Breaks So Many of Us
Many women founders learn tactics built for someone else’s priorities: high-pressure posting schedules, performative trends, and one-size-fits-all funnels. The result? Burnout, feast-or-famine cash flow, and doubt. Rebel marketing flips that script. You build a system that’s predictable, sustainable, and—when you want it—scalable.
The Comfortably Confident Loop
Confidence isn’t volume; it’s alignment. Try this loop:
- Authenticity: Tell the truth about who you are and how you work best.
- Simplicity: Strip away busywork. Keep only the actions that move sales.
- Momentum: Simple actions are repeatable, which builds confidence. Repeat the loop. Confidence compounds.
You’re Never Not Marketing
Every touchpoint—from a product unboxing to your own morning self-talk—markets your brand. Neuroscience 101: your brain believes what it sees repeatedly. Your words and actions are micro-ads to yourself and your audience. Choose messages that build capability, not panic.
Introvert-Friendly Sales (Yes, Really)
Some of the strongest sellers are quiet. Protect your energy, prioritize depth over noise, and structure reach-outs or content in formats that fit you (e.g., podcast guesting instead of high-frequency posting). Quiet doesn’t mean small; quiet can be laser-focused.
The Daily Practice That Changes Everything
Use this micro-ritual to stay consistent without hustling yourself into the ground:
- Reflect: What moved the needle today? What didn’t?
- Realign: Reconnect to the near-term goal (think 12-Week Year) and ask the One Thing question: What’s the one action that makes everything else easier or unnecessary?
- Recommit: Choose 2–3 tasks for tomorrow. Small, specific, done.
A Simpler Content System
Batch a 6-month library of prompts tied to your offers and values. Repurpose across channels (email, social, product pages, wholesale outreach). People won’t remember a January post in September—but they will remember consistency.
Start Here
Rebel marketing doesn’t reject strategy; it rejects misaligned strategy. Build a plan that feels like home and watch your sales get steadier, your content get easier, and your confidence become the calm kind that sticks.
